JOB DESCRIPTION

• Examines complex plans and specifications to determine if they comply with (inter)national construction codes;
• Ensure that designs serve their function and are economical liable;
• Able to perform and to check engineering computations and compliance with applicable construction/ building codes;
• Identifies inadequacies found on M&E, structural and architectural documents and specifications and requires corrections to be made to meet the requirements of applicable building codes;
• Investigates the suitability of materials and equipments and methods of construction for compliance with construction/building code;
• Produce and check Bill of Quantities for Tender Documents;
• Responds to questions related to construction codes, department policies and governmental procedures;
• Attends meetings with developers, owners, architects, and engineers relating to plan design data, code interpretations, and the resolution of design problems affecting life safety;
• Recommends changes in designs to resolve design and interpretation problems and to accommodate and control new materials and new design concepts;

• Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Minimum 1 year experience in practicing engineering works;
  • Proficient in Vietnamese and good communication skills in English;
• Knowledge of:
  • (Inter)nationally recognized codes and standards and related ordinances, such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, International and British Standards and Local municipality and Utility Authority regulations;
  • Electrical design software applications
  • Auto Cad design software
• Ability to:
  • Use professional judgment and common sense in the application and enforcement of the intent of code requirements;
  • Objectively interpret and consistently apply code requirements and related standards in accordance with project requirements;
  • Read and accurately interpret building construction plans and specifications of any complexity;
  • Communicate in the Vietnamese and English language by phone or in person in a one-to-one or group setting;
  • Produce written documents in the Vietnamese language with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar, reporting skills in English will be advantage;
  • Work cooperatively with other company staff;
  • Use graphic instructions, such as working drawings, schematic drawings, building plans or other visual aids;
  • Ascend and descend ladders and unfinished stairs without handrails and/or fixed stair treads, such as working on a construction site;
  • Comprehend and make inferences from written material;
  • Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others;

• The job location will be in HCMC. Salary is competitive.
