What You Will Do
As a Systems Engineer, you will join the Network Operations Center (NOC). You should be self-motivated, production sensitive and technically talented to support the Service Infrastructure environment 24x7.
In this role, you will provide monitoring and support for cloud based applications, Linux based systems, service infrastructure, as well as assistance to other teams. You will be providing Tier 1 shift support on Service Infrastructure environment.
Responsibilities:
• Supporting and maintaining health of applications, ensuring application performance is consistently up to par
• Taking ownership and delivering high quality solutions for issues and requests
• Resolving issues and requests in timely manner with minimal supervision
• Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps
• Communicating solutions effectively to technical and non-technical teams
• Complying with standard processes when implementing solutions
What You Are Good At
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 2 to 6 years' of experience building tools and supporting systems in a large enterprise environment
• Minimum 2 years' of hands-on experience working in the Linux environment
• Minimum 2 years' experience building automation tools and scripts in the area of infrastructure management and operations
• Minimum 1 year experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix, New relic and etc.
Desired Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self driven and ability to work and manage multiple projects
• Ability to quickly pick up new languages and frameworks
• Knowledge of Agile and Behaviour Driven Development
• Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, consensus-oriented environment
• Experience with NoSQL (Memcache, MongoDB) a plus
• Experience working with log aggregation tools a plus
• Experience working with CDN services and GLB a plus
• Experience with configuration management tools: Puppet, Chef and etc.
• Must be able to be on call - flexible in working extended hours on occasion or as required
