SMS Vietnam has a number of positions open for senior Java Engineers. FileNet experience is highly sought after, but not essential. Successful candidates will be required to undergo FileNet training and certification before joining our teams on projects.

A developer is focused on designing and producing quality code and supervising more junior developers. Projects can range from a few weeks to a few years and a senior developer is expected to contribute consistently to the success of the project throughout its lifetime. A SMS developer is further responsible for informing their line manager when they become aware of risks to the project’s success.
You will have a thirst for best practice, coupled with a background working successfully in agile run software development teams.
Along with your proven technical ability you will be a passionate and highly motivated individual with customer facing consulting abilities, who has proven experience translating complex business requirements into technical solutions. You will work effectively in teams of varying sizes, be able to mentor junior members of staff and adapt well to changing environments.

In order to be successful in this role, the candidates will be able to demonstrate:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Masters Science/Phd preferred
- At least 3+ years experience: Java/J2EE.
- Database: MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL.
- IDE: Eclipse, IntelliJ.
- Experience in some of the technologies listed: Web Services, MVC, Design Patterns, JPA, Hibernate, JUnit, Spring Framework.
- Web Browser technology: HTML/CSS, AJAX, JQuery.
- Versioning tool: Subversion, GIT.
- OS: Linux, Windows.
- Experience in Business Process Management of FileNet, BPM, BPEL (highly regarded).
- Strong grounding in Agile – Unit Testing, Scrum, Extreme Programming, Test Driven Development.
- Experience operating in an Agile development environment: Detailed understanding of either XP or Scrum
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills that are essential to working in this dynamic team environment.
- Familiarity with building business critical software infrastructures.
- Eager to learn new technologies.
- Fluently English. Cantonese is a plus.
- Object oriented design and development
- Development best practices (design patterns, test driven development, continuous integration)
